Chances are, you'll be too tired to unpack your things. You'll want your essentials within easy access, including a change of clothes if you're going back to work the next day as well as all your toiletries. It's also a great way to transport jewelry, laptops, and other hard to replace items.
This includes things like a box cutter, paper towels, trash bags, eating utensils, select cookware, power strips, phone chargers, toilet paper, tools, coffee (and pot), soap, flashlight, etc. The clear bin allows you to see inside; it also separates itself from the myriad of cardboard boxes.
Keep ziplock sandwich bags handy for holding any hardware for things that require disassembly, like curtain rods or mounted flat-screen TVs. Label these items appropriately and tape them securely to the item before the move. This is also a great way to store cords for your electronics prior to your move.
NOTE: If you use our professional packing and unpacking services you won't have to worry about this as we will make certain that all of your electronics are working before we leave.
Taking a picture of how your electronics are hooked up before removing wires helps ensure that you will be able to hook-up your audio/video and other electronocs when they arrive at your new home. This tip works well for televisions, stereos, gamong systems, computers, printers, and other electronics.

Consider donating any unwanted items that you do not intend to sell to worthwhile charity organizations. You will want to make arrangements with the charity of your choice at least a couple of weeks before your move. Also, do not forget to ask for a charitable donation receipt for tax purposes.
Taking photos of your former rental can help ensure that you receive a maximum return of your deposit and can save you money and headaches with regard to unnecessary or unwarranted repairs. Consider taking photos of your new rental as well, especially of areas where pre-existing damage is evident.
Labelling boxes as you pack with both the content of the box and to which room it wil go makes the unloading and unpacking process so much easier. Don't forget to label 'Fragile' items and designate orientation for items that need to remain upright.
NOTE: If you use our professional packing and unpacking services you won't have to worry about this. We will label everything to make your move hassle-free.
To prevent your make up from breaking while moving pack cotton balls or cotton pads in your hard baked compacts so it won't crack. I also recommend to place a cotton pad inside your loose powder foundation to minimize the amount of power that comes out.
Don't trash your toiletries! When moving, place saran wrap on your bottles, such as shampoo, conditioner, etc., and place the cap over it. This will prevent any oozes and spillage in transport.
Don't use newspaper to pack! Newspaper print can get off on your hands, on your furniture, and walls. Honestly you just don't want the weather report from a year ago on your picture frame forever. Use unprinted paper, clothing, sheets, or even socks to pack your fragile items.
The easiest way to organize boxes when moving is to color code each room. For example, use green tape or a marker for the living room, black for the kitchen, and blue for your room...etc... That way the movers know which boxes go together and in which room.
The easiest way to keep your bedding clean and all together is to pack it in a drawer. We always tell customers they can keep their loosely packed materials in their drawers. Go ahead and throw in your bedding as well, so you can easily find it upon arrival.
You don't have to use boxes. Save yourself some time and money and use what you already have! Use baskets, bins, totes, laundry hampers, or anything else you can use as a box as long as it is sturdy enough!
Numbering your boxes helps endure that you know exactly how many you have and can quickly determine if any are missing or unaccounted for. Color code them by room for optimal organization!
